The state government has launched the Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana (MBBY) to help farmers protect their vegetable, fruit, and spice crops from losses due to extreme weather. Under this scheme, farmers can receive compensation of up to Rs 40,000 per acre by paying a small premium.

The MBBY scheme aims to promote horticulture and safeguard farmers against crop damage caused by rain, hailstorms, and other natural disasters. It covers 46 crops, including 23 vegetables, 21 fruits, and 2 spice crops. Farmers can get compensation of Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 per acre by paying a 2.5% premium.
Cabbage, cauliflower, brinjal, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, lady's finger, arbi, capsicum, carrot, chilli, cucumber, melon, onion, peas, radish, potato, pumpkin, ridge gourd, watermelon, tinda, zucchini, tomato.
Fig, dragon fruit, dates, sapota, plum, amla, grapes, jamun, guava, kinnu, lemon, lime, litchi, malta, orange, mango, pear, pomegranate, strawberry.
Turmeric and garlic.
This scheme covers damage due to hailstorms, extreme temperatures, frost, floods, cloudbursts, canal or drain breakage, waterlogging, storms, and fire.
Vegetables & Spices: Rs 750 per acre premium.
Fruits: Rs 1,000 per acre premium.
Vegetable & Spice Crops: Compensation ranges from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000 per acre.
Fruit Crops: Compensation ranges from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 per acre.
