Mahindra leads FY2025 tractor sales as total retail drops to 8.83 lakh units; Swaraj and Sonalika follow behind.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released the retail tractor sales data for the financial year 2024-25 (FY’25). According to the report, a total of 8,83,095 tractors were sold during FY’25, marking a slight drop from 8,92,410 units sold in FY’24.
This data was collected in collaboration with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and includes inputs from 1,378 out of 1,438 RTOs across India. Telangana data is not included in the report.

The Mahindra tractor remained the top tractor seller in FY’25 with 2,08,114 units sold, gaining a 23.57% market share. It showed a marginal increase over last year’s 22.94% share with 2,04,726 units sold.
Swaraj Division also performed well, holding the second position with 1,65,562 units sold and an 18.75% market share, up from 17.93% last year.
Sonalika Tractors retained the third spot with 1,15,198 units, improving slightly from 1,14,228 units last year. Its market share increased to 13.04%.
TAFE saw a decline in sales with 99,286 units, down from 1,08,106 units in FY’24. Its market share dropped to 11.24% from 12.11%.
Escorts Kubota sold 87,628 units, showing a slight decline compared to 89,832 units in FY’24. Its market share reduced to 9.92%.
John Deere recorded a growth in sales, moving up to 67,518 units from 63,620 units. Market share improved to 7.65%.
Eicher saw a slight drop, selling 57,213 units compared to 59,538 units last year. Its market share fell to 6.48%.
CNH Industrial sold 35,763 units, almost matching last year’s 36,236 units, keeping its market share steady at around 4.05%.
Kubota faced a noticeable decline, with 15,033 units sold, down from 17,691 units in FY’24. Market share fell to 1.70%.
All other tractor brands combined sold 31,780 units, showing a drop from 38,436 units last year, holding a 3.60% market share.

Tractor retail sales for FY2025 saw a minor decline of around 9,000 units compared to the previous year. Mahindra & Mahindra remained the clear market leader, with both its main division and Swaraj performing well. Brands like John Deere and Sonalika showed growth, while TAFE, Eicher, and Kubota witnessed a drop in sales.
