In December 2023, retail tractor sales stood at 78,872 units against 78,700 units in December 2022.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has released the tractor sales report of national and international tractor brands selling tractors in the Indian market. According to this recent report, retail tractor sales for December 2023 increased by 0.22%.

Mahindra & Mahindra again stood at the top position in selling the highest number of tractors in the domestic market and export. Mahindra & Mahindra, reported the sale of 18,580 units of tractors in December 2023, a slight dip from the 19,393 units sold in the same month last year. Moreover, if we talk about growth, M&M acquired a market share of 23.56%.

Swaraj Division, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, also contributed significantly to the overall success of the company. With retail tractor sales of 14,377 units in December 2023, compared to 12,922 units in December 2022, Swaraj Division secured a commendable market share of 18.23%.

International Tractors Limited showcased a robust performance by registering retail tractor sales of 11,335 units in December 2023, a notable increase from the 9,731 units sold in the same period the previous year. The company now commands a market share of 14.37%, indicating positive growth in a competitive market.

Escorts Ltd, operating under the Agri Machinery Group, also witnessed an uptick in sales. The company sold 8,154 tractors in December 2023, compared to 7,761 units in December 2022, securing a market share of 10.34%. Escorts Ltd's performance underscores its continued efforts to meet the demands of the agricultural sector.

The retail sales of TAFE tractors stood at 8056 units, and last year's sales for the same month were 7873 units, securing a market share of 10.21%.

Eicher, another prominent player in the tractor market, recorded sales of 5,643 units in December 2023, compared to 5,024 units in December 2022. The brand now commands a market share of 7.15%, indicating a positive growth.

John Deere India Pvt Ltd. experienced a slight dip in sales, with 5,232 units sold in December 2023, as opposed to 6,507 units in December 2022. Despite the decrease, the brand maintains a respectable market share of 6.63%.

CNH Industrial India, commonly known as New Holland, reported sales of 3,349 units, a marginal increase from the 3,290 units sold in December 2022. This secures a market share of 4.25% for the brand.

Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt. Ltd witnessed a decline in sales, with 1,518 units sold in December 2023 compared to 2,386 units in the same month the previous year. The brand now holds a market share of 1.92%.

Gromax Agri Equipment Ltd achieved sales of 358 units, marking a notable increase from 288 units in December 2022, resulting in a market share of 0.45%.

VST Tiller Tractors saw a decline in sales, recording 288 units in December 2023 compared to 461 units in December 2022, leading to a market share of 0.37%.

Captain Tractors Pvt. Ltd reported sales of 285 units, up from 223 units in December 2022, securing a market share of 0.36%.

In contrast to these major players, other tractor manufacturers collectively sold 1,697 units in December 2023, down from 2,841 units in the same month of 2022. This accounts for a 2.15% market share, indicating some fluctuations in the overall market.

The tractor industry continues to be dynamic, with various brands navigating changing market trends and consumer preferences.
