CNH India President and Managing Director Narinder Mittal shared that the company aims to double its market share within the next five years. Currently, New Holland holds a 4.1% share in the Indian tractor market. In 2024, the company sold around 37,000 tractors domestically and exported approximately 10,000 units.
To strengthen its presence, CNH plans to increase its dealership network from 500 to 800 within the next two years. This expansion will help the company reach more farmers across India and boost sales.
New Holland offers tractors ranging from 20 to 110 horsepower, along with farm equipment such as combine harvesters, sugarcane harvesters, and crop residue management solutions.
India’s tractor industry sold 9.02 lakh units in 2024, showing a slight decline of 1.5% from the previous year. However, industry experts see signs of growth due to factors like surplus rainfall, improved reservoir levels, an increase in minimum support prices (MSP), and higher government spending on rural development.
CNH India reported a turnover of around Rs 7,500 crore in 2024, with tractors contributing 65% of the business. The company currently has the capacity to produce 70,000 tractors annually across its Noida and Pune plants. CNH plans to increase this capacity to 1 lakh units to meet growing demand.
India plays a key role in CNH’s global business strategy, serving as a major manufacturing hub for domestic and export markets. By expanding production and its dealer network, CNH aims to strengthen its foothold in India’s competitive tractor market.
