AutoNxt introduces India’s first electric tractors, offering a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to diesel with advanced technology and fast charging.

Key Highlights

AutoNxt, a rising star in the electric vehicle industry, is set to transform farming in India with its groundbreaking commercial electric tractors. Based in Thane, Maharashtra, AutoNxt has introduced India’s very first electric tractor, marking a significant milestone in sustainable agriculture.

A New Era in Farming: Shift from Diesel to Electric Tractors

Traditional diesel tractors have been the backbone of Indian agriculture due to their lower initial costs. However, the shift towards electric tractors is becoming increasingly important. Electric tractors offer lower running costs, better torque, and greater efficiency compared to their diesel counterparts. With India’s goal of achieving 30% electric mobility by 2030, transitioning to electric tractors is both timely and crucial.

Why Choose Electric Tractors?

Though electric tractors come with a higher upfront price, they also promise substantial long-term savings. For example, while a diesel tractor costs around Rs. 93.5 per kilometer to operate, an electric tractor costs only Rs. 14.15 per kilometer. This drastic difference in running costs makes electric tractors a more economical choice over time.

AutoNxt’s Vision for Sustainable Farming

AutoNxt’s founder, Kaustubh Dhondewas inspired to start the company after witnessing his uncle’s struggles with high diesel costs and health issues related to the use of a diesel tractor. Driven by a desire to offer a more sustainable and cost-effective solution, Dhonde developed AutoNxt’s electric tractors, aiming to enhance farming operations across India.

Advanced Technology and Future Prospects

AutoNxt is integrating cutting-edge technology into its electric tractors, including Level 3 autonomy. This means that the tractors can operate without a driver within the farm’s boundaries. However, these autonomous tractors will not be permitted on public roads.

Charging time is another key feature. AutoNxt’s tractors can be fully charged in just three hours, addressing one of the major concerns for potential buyers.

Looking ahead, AutoNxt aims to capture 10-20% of the Indian tractor market by 2030. Currently, the company focuses on a B2B model, partnering with organizations that lease tractors to small farmers. This rental approach allows farmers to experience the benefits of electric tractors without facing high upfront costs.

AutoNxt is poised to play a crucial role in the future of Indian farming, bringing innovative, sustainable solutions to the agriculture sector.
