Solar Irrigation Pumps Coming Soon

In addition to temporary pump connections, the Madhya Pradesh government is also set to install 52,000 solar irrigation pumps. These pumps will generate around 250 MW of power, ensuring farmers receive a steady supply of electricity for their irrigation needs.

Farmers will only need to pay 40% of the cost for these solar pumps, as the central and state governments will cover 60% of the expense. These solar pumps will operate independently from the grid, meaning farmers will benefit from free electricity for irrigation.

The installation of these solar pumps is expected to begin by the end of this year.
