AITMC Ventures Ltd., an innovative drone manufacturing company based in India, has announced that its Agriculture Drone, named VIRAJ, has received type certification from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This certification marks an important milestone for the company, enhancing its credibility and opening up new opportunities in India's rapidly growing drone market.
Himanshu Sharma, CEO of AITMC Ventures Ltd. (AVPL International), expressed his pride in achieving the company’s first type certification for the VIRAJ UAS. This small-class hexacopter drone is recognized for its proper design, material, specification, construction, and performance, ensuring safe operation. The drone market in India is expected to reach nearly 2.5 trillion Indian rupees by 2030, and AITMC Ventures is strategically positioned to become a leader in this field. The VIRAJ Drone is equipped with the latest features, including endurance, stability, and performance.
Deep Sihag Sisai, Founder and Managing Director of AITMC Ventures Ltd. (AVPL International) shared his excitement about this achievement. He stated, “Receiving this certification is a testament to our commitment to safety and quality. It will boost our scalability and penetration in the market.” The company aims to sell 5,000 drones in the fiscal year 2024-25, expanding its network across 12 states and over 70 training institutes in India.
AITMC Ventures has already inaugurated 20 Centers of Excellence (COEs) for Drones and plans to operationalize 35 locations with drone servicing, agriculture, and training facilities by September 2024. In the future, these centers will be known as World Skill and Incubation Hubs (WISH) and Global Skill and Incubation Hubs (GSIH).
Preet Sandhu, Co-founder and Executive Director, spoke about the company’s Drone Entrepreneur Programmes. These programs aim to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to operate AITMC’s drones effectively, contributing to the company’s ambitious sales targets.
The VIRAJ UAS drones are designed for various applications, such as seed broadcasting, agrochemical spraying, and remote pilot training. These versatile drones have the potential to revolutionize several sectors, particularly agriculture.
Preet Sandhu also announced the upcoming inauguration of a new drone production unit in Gurgaon. This facility will soon submit the type certification for the next version of the VIRAJ drone, featuring a medium-category Agriculture Drone with Co-Axial features, a first in India.
Himanshu Sharma emphasized the company's growth strategy, highlighting their presence in 12 states, which helps them reach a wider audience. The company offers a range of courses, from Remote Pilot Certification to Agriculture Drone Spraying, ensuring customers are well-equipped to use their drones effectively. Sharma also mentioned that type certifications for training and photographic drones have been submitted, and soon all training centers will be equipped with their own training drones.
AITMC Ventures Ltd. is assured of making a significant impact on the Indian drone market with its innovative products and comprehensive training programs. The DGCA certification for the VIRAJ drone is a testament to their dedication to quality and safety, setting the stage for further growth and success.
