Farmers can get up to 90% subsidy on drip and sprinkler irrigation equipment under the PMKSY scheme for water conservation.

Key Highlights

The government has launched a special initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) to help farmers adopt modern irrigation techniques. Small and marginal farmers can now purchase drip and mini sprinkler irrigation systems at a subsidy of up to 90%, while other farmers can avail benefits ranging from 65% to 80%.

This scheme, implemented by the State Horticulture Department of Uttar Pradesh, aims to conserve water, reduce irrigation costs, and boost crop productivity.

  3. Improved Yield: These systems ensure that the water reaches plant roots effectively, boosting fertility and crop production.
  4. Direct Subsidy Transfer: The subsidy amount will be credited directly to the farmer’s bank accounts.
