The government has launched a special initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) to help farmers adopt modern irrigation techniques. Small and marginal farmers can now purchase drip and mini sprinkler irrigation systems at a subsidy of up to 90%, while other farmers can avail benefits ranging from 65% to 80%.
This scheme, implemented by the State Horticulture Department of Uttar Pradesh, aims to conserve water, reduce irrigation costs, and boost crop productivity.

The subsidy amount varies based on the type of irrigation system and the category of the farmers:
Farmers can apply for the subsidy under the Per Drop More Crop scheme through:
Selection Process: Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Farmers must own cultivable land and have private irrigation facilities to be eligible.
This system supplies water drop by drop directly to the roots of plants. It uses small underground pipelines with holes for controlled water release.
Water is sprayed uniformly across the field using sprinklers attached to pipelines.
