The state government has deployed surveyors for each village panchayat, and they will use digital IDs and passwords to conduct the surveys. The survey process will include face authentication of both the surveyor and the beneficiary to ensure transparency and accuracy. No eligible family must be left out.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin is designed for rural families who own land but live in kutcha houses (temporary homes). These families will receive up to Rs. 1.20 lakh to help them build a pucca house (permanent structure). The goal is to improve the living conditions of those in rural areas who lack adequate housing.
The government has introduced some changes to the eligibility criteria for the PMAY-G scheme. Previously, families owning items like motorcycles, landline phones, or refrigerators were considered ineligible, even if they lived in kutcha houses. However, this condition has now been removed. Families with these items will still qualify for the scheme, allowing more rural families to benefit from this initiative.
The central government has set a target of building 70,000 new homes in Uttar Pradesh alone for the 2024-25 financial year. So far, 35.88 lakh houses have been built under PMAY-G, with 36.60 lakh homes planned. The remaining 72,000 homes are still under construction, and efforts are being made to complete them as soon as possible.
