The main goal of this partnership is to improve crop productivity, reduce input costs, and increase the income of farmers. By expanding the use of drone technology in agriculture, the collaboration aims to make farming more precise and sustainable. The drones will enable the accurate spraying of fertilizers and pesticides, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact.
Both companies bring unique strengths to this initiative. Coromandel, through its subsidiary Daksh Unmanned Systems, offers expertise in drone technology, including pilot training and reliable service support. Meanwhile, Mahindra’s vast network and its Krish-e Farming App will ensure farmers can access these services easily.
Coromandel’s Growmore Drive service is a key element of this partnership. This service uses drones to spray fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals efficiently and cost-effectively. It not only saves time but also reduces farmers' exposure to harmful chemicals, ensuring safer farming practices.
The Growmore Drive service is currently operational in seven states—Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. Farmers can avail of this service on a per-acre payment basis, making it affordable and accessible.
Mahindra’s Krish-e App will serve as the gateway for farmers to access the Growmore Drive service. The app provides personalized crop calendars, expert agricultural advice, and other farming solutions to improve crop yields. By integrating Coromandel’s drone services, the app offers a seamless way for farmers to adopt modern technologies.
Aamir Alvi, COO of Coromandel’s Fertilizer Business, highlighted the potential of this collaboration:
“Coromandel’s Growmore Drive offers farmers significant advancements in efficiency, scalability, and convenience. Our partnership with Mahindra Krish-e is a pivotal step in making drone spraying accessible to farmers, reducing input costs, and improving farm profitability.”
Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra’s Agricultural Equipment Sector, expressed enthusiasm for the venture:
“With Krish-e’s established presence and Coromandel’s expertise, we are thrilled to bring drone technology to more farmers. This initiative will not only enhance productivity but also promote safer farming practices by reducing exposure to chemicals.”
This partnership marks a significant step in modernizing Indian agriculture. By combining Mahindra’s reach and Coromandel’s technical expertise, the collaboration promises to bring cutting-edge technology to farmers, empowering them with tools to improve their livelihoods.
Indian farmers now have a brighter future, with drone technology paving the way for smarter, safer, and more productive farming.
