Retail Tractor Sales Report for April 2023: Detailed Overview

Mahindra & Mahindra stood at the top position in selling the highest number of tractors. It sold 12,639 units of tractors and saw 18.14% of growth. M&M also registered a whopping rise of 3.20% in market share.

The Swaraj Division of M&M sold 9,550 units against 8,068 in April 2022. This tractor brand in India witnessed a growth of 18.37% and a market share of 2.44%.

International Tractors Ltd, popularly called Sonalika Tractors, noticed satisfactory retail tractor sales and market share growth. According to FADA’s latest tractor sales report for April 2023, this tractor brand sold 6,964 units which were 6,334 units in April 2022. Further, Sonalika witnessed a 0.96% rise in market share and a 9.95% increase in its YoY sales figures.

TAFE Ltd is one of the largest tractor-manufacturing brands in the domestic market. The brand saw about 13% growth in tractor sales and sold 6,746 units against 5,977 units in April 2022.

Escorts Tractors sold 6,243 units of tractors to register a whopping growth of 24.51%. The tractor brand saw a satisfactory increase in its market share by 2.07%.

John Deere, another top tractor manufacturer in India, registered 4,577 units of sales and 8.20% growth against 4,170 units in April 2022. John Deere noticed a slight rise in its market share by 0.62%.

Eicher Tractors witnessed a downfall in its April 2023 retail tractor sales. This tractor manufacturing company sold 3,215 units of tractors against 3,824 units in April 2022, registering a decline of 15.93%. Eicher also saw a downfall in its market share by 1.19% in the domestic market.

CNN, New Holland Tractors, registered a remarkable growth of 17.57% in the domestic market. Moreover, New Holland sold 2,262 tractors in April 2023 and 1,924 units last year.

Kubota is a Japanese tractor brand known for manufacturing technologically advanced and modern-looking tractors. The brand sold 1,318 units of tractors in the domestic market against 1,265 units in April 2022, registering an overall growth of 4.19%. Moreover, Kubota tractors saw an increase in their market share by 0.06%.

VST tractors registered a 13.97% downfall in its April 2023 sales compared to last year’s sales figure. VST Tillers Tractors Ltd sold 308 tractors which were 358 units in April 2022. Further, this tractor brand witnessed a decline in market share by 0.10%.

Force tractors witnessed a nearly 30% decline in its sales figure and a 0.21% drop in its market share. The retail tractor sales of Force tractors stood at 262 units against 376 units in April 2022.

According to FADA’s tractor sales report, Preet tractors sold 221 units, registering a negative growth of 39.29%. Last year, the brand had a sales figure for the same month was 364 units, which was 143 units higher than last month’s sales.

Indo Farm registered total sales of 210 units against 338 units in April 2022, showing a decline of 37.87%. Additionally, the company also lost its domestic market share by 0.23%.

The tractor sales figure of other tractor brands slumped by 79%, with the sales of 1320 tractors in total. In 2022, these brands had sales of 6,309 units in total, which is higher than the sales figure of April 2023.

Summary

FADA’s retail tractor sales report for April 2023 shows a 1.48% increase in tractor sales. In contrast, all tractor manufacturers sold 55,835 units collectively. M&M and M&M’s Swaraj Division remained on the top by registering 12,639 and 9,550 units of sales, respectively. However, tractor brands like Eicher, VST, Force, and Preet registered negative growth in their overall sales figure and market share.
