Immediate Relief Measures

The Yogi government has taken swift action to address the challenges faced by farmers. In a recent directive, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to provide immediate relief to affected farmers. The government has pledged to send funds directly to the accounts of farmers within 24 hours to compensate for the damage caused to their crops.

Grief Over the Loss of Lives

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives due to lightning strikes in various districts, CM Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to provide financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. This initiative aims to support the affected families during these challenging times.

Survey for Compensation

In an official statement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has mandated a comprehensive survey to assess the extent of damage to crops caused by strong winds and hailstorms in the state. District Magistrates, Deputy District Magistrates, and Tehsildars have been tasked with conducting on-the-spot surveys and providing detailed information to the concerned department.

Strict Instructions Against Negligence

Emphasizing the importance of timely and accurate compensation, the Chief Minister has warned against any negligence on the part of officials. Strict action will be taken if any officer is found to be careless in the compensation process.

Survey Progress and Alert Issued

As of March 2, more than seven thousand farmers from 50 districts have applied for crop compensation. Survey work on these applications is being conducted on a war footing, with 2681 applications already processed. The relief department has issued alerts in various districts, urging people to leave their homes only for urgent work to prevent any loss of life due to adverse weather conditions.

Highest Number of Applicants in Hamirpur

The Revenue (Relief) Department's portal reveals that Hamirpur district has the highest number of applicants, with 1256 farmers seeking compensation for damaged crops. Other districts, including Jalaun, Mirzapur, Lalitpur, Jhansi, and Banda, have also reported significant applications.

Financial Assistance for Lightning Victims

Relief Commissioner G.S. Naveen Kumar reported lightning-related fatalities in multiple districts. In response, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has authorized immediate financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. The Relief Department is actively monitoring the situation, with ongoing efforts to expedite compensation to affected farmers.
